Waiting to Board

We’re at Phnom Penh International Airport now and just waiting for our boarding time. My son is so excited he keeps on asking if it’s our turn to board.

We’re all excited to go back to Philippines for a visit. It’s been nine long months since our last visit to Philippines.

In the meantime, our waiting is comfortable in the newly renovated Phnom Penh International Airport. It has free wifi and it’s more spacious than the last time I was here (November 2011).

Check out some photos I took inside.

I hope the Ninoy Aquino International Airport will also undergo a major renovation so it wouldn’t be included in the worst airports in the world.

Finding Family Activity and Adventure Holidays

Finding activity adventure holidays that the whole family can enjoy is much easier than you might imagine as there are so many package deals available right now for you to choose from. You can balance activity and full-on relaxation in any number of ways to ensure that you have just the kind of vacation that you and your family are after. So whether that means hanging out by the beach before you get involved with the latest water sports, or it means tackling a set of snowy mountains before hopping into a jacuzzi, you can find it all online very easily.

By carrying out even a simple search based on your fundamental holiday stipulations you can unearth all manner of adventure packages designed to give families flexibility along with no end of action-packed entertainments. There are dozens of resorts around the Mediterranean where families can sun themselves to their heart’s content before taking lessons in more high-octane pursuits like water-skiing, sailing or scuba diving. And when it comes to kite surfing holidays Europe is also very well equipped with experts available to help you pick up the basics and learn the skills you need to have fantastic time.

Days spent with your family on holiday in beautiful surroundings in Europe or elsewhere are always likely to be great fun but adding an element of adrenaline pumping activity or adventure can help to make the experience all the more memorable. And that is as true in the context of winter sports as in the summer. It doesn’t take much organisational effort to add a range of activities to your next holiday schedule and you could just find yourself opting to inject a little adventure into every trip you take in future.

Self Imposed Travel Ban

I know we just got back from a holiday (I haven’t even finished writing about it here) but I can’t help it if my mind starts to dream of another holiday. This travel thing is really addicting. No one has warned me.

After our recent travel, I did an accounting and it really did wreak havoc on our budget. So I am implenting a travel ban for our family for at least six months.

I know. Just thinking about it makes me sad. How about another Disyneland we were supposed to visit early next year? And how about the lanzarote holidays we were starting to plan for mid next year. Sob.

All these travel plans and wishlist will have to be put on the back side for now. We need to prioritize. We have some projects brewing and it is more important than those travels. My mind agrees but my heart is bleeding.

I guess the best thing to do right now is to make myself busy and productive so I won’t have think about any furture travels.

I promise to write another post tomorrow regarding our EU travel.

Hola Amigas!

It must be the best time for travelling! I just saw my cousin’s facebook status. She said they just got their tickets and vouchers for their holidays to gran canaria. They are flying on Saturday! Wow!

I have realized two things today. One, the world is not really that small. You know the saying, “what a small world!”, I tend to take it literally. Well, I really should not. LOL! Two, I thought I know my geography, at least the basics. But it turns out, I don’t know anything at all.

So since I don’t know anything at all about Gran Canaria, I googled the place. And I am awestruck with the beauty I see. Let me add one more thing I realized today: The world is such a beautiful place! It’s our duty to explore it.

Let me share some photos I found about the place:

Isn’t it amazing? I am adding this place to my travel wishlist! It’s just so breathtaking.

From what I can gather on the internet, Gran Canaria is the largest island and most populous of the Canary Islands. Language is Spanish and the weather is pleasant all year round making it a year-round tourist destination. For Filipinos, a visa is needed to enter the place. I must keep that in mind.

Anyway, I shall go back to drooling over the photos of Gran Canaria. I am sure I am going to dream about this place tonight. Hopefully, one day this dream will be translated into reality.

I wish!

Paris, here we come!

It’s the 1st of November already! How time flies! About three months ago, I was still contemplating if we should push through with our Paris trip or just simply save the money. But well, you know what happened (that is if you’ve been reading this blog for sometime now).

For new readers here, well, we decided to go to Paris. This trip to Paris (and Brussels and Dubai too) is a three-month long planning process. You might say, that’s being too OC. But in our case, it’s just being well prepared. It’s our first time to go to Europe and to be honest I am a little nervous. I know what to expect based on the reading materials I’ve read on the internet but I guess each experience is different from the other. So, I’d rather be prepared that get lost in Paris =)

On Thursday, we leave Phnom Penh and journey on to the city of lights – Paris. I wished I have availed of an all inclusive holidays I came across on the internet so I don’t have to worry about transportation around the city anymore. But I was too hard headed. And it’s too late for that now.

But aside from that though, everything looks fine. I’ve printed our airline tickets, hotel voucher, entrance tickets to Disneyland, Lourve, Eiffel Tower and Burj Khalifa (in Dubai) and some relevant information. Our wardrobe is well planned and is ready to be packed tonight. The boys have their haircut already yesterday.

So I guess I can safely say, we’re ready for Paris and Brussels and Dubai.

I am very excited. I know we’re going to have an amazing time. With my two boys with me, I know everything will be awesome.
